ANALYSIS OF THE LEVEL OF TECHNOLOGICAL, PEDAGOGICAL, AND CONTENT KNOWLEDGE (TPACK) AMONG LECTURERS IN THEIR TEACHING PRACTICES (ARABIC)

Abstract

This study aims to know the level of technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge (TPACK) of the lecturers at the International Islamic Technological College Penang in the teaching and learning processes and their suggestions to raise their competencies in these dimensions. This cross-sectional descriptive study uses a set of questionnaires developed by Zahra Hosseini and Anand Kamal, and the frequency and mean were analyzed using the SPSS. The result indicated the lowest score obtained was in "technological knowledge" (3.65), followed by pedagogical technology knowledge (4.12). The content and pedagogical knowledge got the high score (4.19). The highest score obtained was in “technological content knowledge” (4.34).The results of this study are useful in identifying appropriate courses, workshops, and professional training courses for lecturers to master the skills in the future and this approach is in line with the government's objectives in the Malaysian Education Development Plan which helps to gain satisfaction in carrying out duties and continuing professional development and the college’s vision to be the preferred Islamic educational institution and internationally recognized Islamic center in Southeast Asia, and its mission to produce the competing minds through the integrated higher education and human resource education program and then provide solutions to the nation from an Islamic perspective.
