This is a preliminary study related to Islamic Education teacher professionalism model development based on the concept of spiritual exercises. This phase was a survey method using Likert scale questionnaire. Respondents were 60 teachers in primary and secondary schools in the state of Kelantan. The needs of teacher professionalism found in this study are related to aspects of the professional practice based on spiritual exercises, knowledge of spiritual exercise and the skills of teaching and learning Ruhiyyah based on spiritual exercise. Data were analyzed using SPSS Version 20.0 with frequency and percentage. The study found that, overall; respondents expressed high requirements for the practice of professionalism and knowledge as well as skills-based teaching and learning Ruhiyyah.
