Teachers are planners and providers of teaching materials. In certain situations, teachers have to produce their own teaching materials, appropriate to the teaching content and students’ level of knowledge. Therefore, teachers need to be innovative. However, time constraints are among the obstacles that cause teachers to be unable to innovate. The same thing happened to Islamic Education teachers(GPI). However, there are GPIs that are actively innovating. This phenomenon opens the door to explore their methods of overcoming time issues while producing innovations. In-depth and semi-structured interview methods were applied to two Innovative Teachers of Islamic Education (GIPI). Findings show that they use break time at school, school holidays and collaborates with others to counter the time constraints.
