Abstract
This study aims to identify the leadership competence level of School Leaders and the level of coaching competence of School Improvement Partner. In addition, this study is to investigate the relationship between coaching of the School Improvement Partner and the Leadership Competence of School Leaders. This quantitative study was carried out using survey methods. The data were collected from 226 school leaders in Sarawak. Principals Coach Survey Instrument and Principal Leadership questionnaire were used as instruments to collect the research data. The data were analyzed using SPSS. The findings show that the level of coaching competence of the School Improvement Partner and the level of the Leadership Competence of School Leaders is high. Furthermore, the study also showed that there were statistically significant, positive but weak relationships between coaching of the School Improvement Partner and the Leadership Competence. This study implies that the Ministry of Education has to ensure the School Improvement Partner with high competency.
