Effective sustainable leadership needs to be the practice of today's administrators in achieving school excellence. However, efforts to maintain the level of excellent teacher performance are always constrained. This study aims to identify the sustainable leadership practices of headmasters and the work performance of teachers in Sekolah Kebangsaan Daerah Hulu Langat, Selangor. This study also examines the relationship of sustainable leadership practices of head teachers on teachers' job performance. This study uses a quantitative design using survey method. The study population includes five schools in the district of Hulu Langat, Selangor. A total of 103 teachers were systematically randomly selected as the sample of this study. The study data were analysed using SPSS version 25. The results of the descriptive analysis showed that the level of sustainable leadership practices of headmasters is at a high level (mean = 4.46; sp = 0.551). While the level of teacher work performance is at a high level (mean = 4.61; sp = 0.546). Pearson correlation test analysis also showed a significant positive relationship with the strength of the simple relationship with the value (r = 0.638). The implications of this study, it is hoped to provide added value to the MOE in the recruitment of principals/headmasters, especially schools in Malaysia. The results of this study confirm that the sustainable leadership practices of headmasters can influence school excellence and improve the work performance of teachers to work in a good atmosphere. In conclusion, effective leadership practices need to be practiced by every leader in leading an organization in achieving lasting excellence.
