Abstract

Leadership especially strategic leadership has been identified as an important element in preserving the organizational change readiness towards the improvement of vocational education institutions in producing a holistic human capital and highly skilled. Thus this paper basically aimed to collect data on the current situation of strategic leadership practices and organizational change readiness among aviation vocational institution leaders. The research utilized a quantitative approach with descriptive survey design involving 54 respondents chosen from selected aviation vocational training institution using stratified random distribution. Data were collected through the adapted version of the “Strategic Leadership Questionnaires†and the “Organizational Change Readiness Questionnairesâ€. Findings indicated that there was a significant positive relationship between strategic leadership practices and the level of organizational change readiness (r = .66, p < .01). The findings also showed that strategic leadership practices and organizational change readiness are at a high level. Inferential statistics showed that the individual strategic ability was significant and positive predictor of organizational change readiness.
