IMPAK KESUKARELAWANAN DALAM KALANGAN BELIA DI KUALA LUMPUR: SATU KAJIAN

Abstract

National Youth Development Policy 1997 focuses on the importance of shaping youth in Malaysia to acquire volunteerism spirit. Other than that, youth are considered the main agents in upholding the social, economy and politics of a certain nation. Based on a qualitative research using case studies, it has been identified that exposure to volunteerism among youth in Kuala Lumpur has an important role in building ideal youth. Volunteerism also provides a positive value system and noble character to deliver ideal youth models in making the National Youth Development Policy a reality. However, the six respondents between the age of 20 to 36 who were interviewed had their own motivational development when it comes to exposure, involvement and experience in volunteerism. These were based on their own opinions, realization, capability, knowledge and values within them.
